Love in Three Parts

Darling,
From dusk until dawn
We are only seven
Hours away from the
First time.
A fight and then your flight.
Change at the turn of a dime.
An exchange of currency
and suddenly,
The possibility of anger
Escapes.

—–

And when I sleep
—With dream
I am still sorting through you
Arranging faces with feelings
Inventing and reliving
Inviting, still giving
Wake up.
I take it all back.

—–

Rise and fall
Sink into the tide
Yet, thoughts reside.
Wash away
Firm beliefs
Etched into sand.
Water slips over
Soft and damp
Pliable.
Caving in.

We will never be the same. Again?
